Current trend :
You have to do a little bit of running.. Then make sure you have it tracked… and then make sure you have it updated on facebook … and then wait for comments !!!
Jokes apart, but the recent focus on being fit and keeping one’s body in good shape – is really a welcome change. Giving a little attention to your health and fitness on a daily basis can do you wonders and am a living example of it…
Back in my London days, slogging at work and munching on what ever fried food I could lay my hands on, and stuff myself!
I scaled myself upt0 195 lbs, such a proud moment for me, wish I could score that much in my studies…. !
Once I moved to US in early 2014, the snowstorms and something called ‘Polar Vortex’ welcomes me. ( For anyone who wishes to know what that term means or how welcoming it was for me – North_American_cold_wave ) So now combined with the overcoats and 4 layers of padding to save me from the cold – I looked like a football ! Literally a football !
Thus came the wonderful realization – Reduce weight – Start being active – Run, run and run ….
So here goes the point of actions :
- Run for 30 – 45 mins every alternate days at least 3 days a week.
- Control my craving for all the wonderful street food and desserts at least for 5 days a week. Weekends – Am a different person !
- Increase water intake, and try having warm water.
- Green tea is good, so have it.
And few months down the line I was down to 166 lbs.
Happy me !!!
P.S. How can I forget to mention my running companions – I did splurge on shopping two good running shoes for me. Initial days it was Nike Vomero 6 and then more recently Brooks Glycerin 12. Both amazing – though I may a little more biased towards the Brooks one.
Cheers,
AM
