As I plan to re-kindle my attempt of discovering the city of Paris… extend my cordial invitation to all my fellow travelers to share the experience and the charm this city allures.
History lives in every breath of this city, every turn offers something new, something to remember all through your life. The wide array of splendors coupled with the ever so known architectural marvels the city preserves, makes it unique, makes it PARIS.
I humbly surrender myself, writing about such a city of epic importance, grandeur and spectacle is beyond the vocabulary ability of mine…
Still, to pay a little tribute to the ever so wonderful memories the buildings, the roads, the Seine, the air, the people offered me, attempting to collaborate a photo-walk of the city….
Beginning with the iconic Louvre Pyramid… the amazing modern age creation of Ieoh Ming Pei, the myriad of the glass panes blends seamlessly with the classical architecture of Louvre museum, thereby making the futuristic edifice etch a special place in the traveler’s diary.
Continuing the photo stream, the Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile, the colossal monument standing at the western end of Avenue des Champs-Élysées. Paying tribute to all who laid down their lives for France during the French revolution, it catches the fascination and awe of all.
Amazing geometry, something which struck my sense as I explored more of the city…
If the city skyline and the imposing architecture form the base, the wonderful sculptures offer the classical twist to the city….
To offer its share of vibrancy and freshness are the parks of the city.. the greenery of the cities are kind of a constant feature the cities of Europe offers… do deserve a special mention..
Being a classical city, one can be rest assured to find imposing cathedrals and other places of worship… Worth mentioning are
Sacré-Cœur Basilica : Standing high at summit of Montmarte, the basilica is dedicated to the ‘Sacred Heart of Jesus‘ … The imposing architecture combined with the amazing views of the city it offers, makes it to the must list of any traveler.
Notre Dame de Paris : ‘Our Lady of Paris‘ .. an architectural masterpiece… finest example of French-Gothic architecture… It left me with a feeling of freshness and sense of being.. Being inside the basilica gives a weird feeling… it makes you feel human.. make you think of your being and explore the various unanswered questions of the Universe..
The Seine :The integral part of the city.. the cruise through the city on the Seine offers spectacular views … some humble tributes…
and as the sun sets in … and the night unfolds.. the city wraps itself in a wonderful array of lights an colors… the vibrancy is utter bewildering.. the symphony of colors and the life.. one should just take a deep breath and enjoy..
Had the experience of witnessing the romance of the cabaret… Planned a night at the Moulin Rouge..
The night life continues… the splendor of light continues… be it the romantic cafe, the ‘Eye’ of Paris, the reflections of the city or the food….
Realized a wonderful thought in course of this visit of mine to the city of Paris… This city is romanticism redefined.. the city makes one feel loved.. it is love which characterizes this city.. The love of classics, architecture, music, creativity, food, fashion, people : the love for life…. Though cannot fully agree to the coveted title given to the city ‘The City of Love‘, but do agree being in the city make one feel the need of love.. need of romanticism in life…
Signing off for now…. as I yet again dream of one more European rendezvous…. till then
