Wild encounters..

After relocating back to India – Work pressure had taken a toll on my personal life.. It seemed like starting from scratch – new colleagues, environment, responsibilities – Suddenly I was out of my comfort zone.

As the long weekend happened to arrive – my new drive tempted me to plan for a day out – something very near to Bengaluru but also allows me to try out my i20 on the highways … and the option which best suited me was Banerghatta National Park.

It’s a pretty short drive from the city – 30 to 50 kms depending on which part of the city you are driving from. I was traveling from Whitefield – as per the google maps suggestions the route via electronic city and then on to NICE road and finally hitting Banerghatta main road seemed the best option.

Before the drive, did a short stop to support my hungry stomach at a breakfast joint at Koramangala… notes around it coming soon…

Let’s get to details –

Here is the route :

Tip !! If you are checking in google maps, search for zoo and not the national park. The national park takes you to the check-post where you won’t be allowed.

The entry charges varies, based on what you wish to explore. We took the combo tickets for the park which includes safari and zoo visit. The zoo has quite a few interesting visit, but the scorching heat made us decide – Safari only !! So we queued up .. and 45 mins later, we were on-board the caged bus !

The Grand Safari starts… The tour is divided into concentric zones, starting with herbivores, then moving onto the meat-eaters.. At the junction of each zone, you come across dual gates – it reminded me of the gates seen in the old Jurassic Park movie !! ( Though not that hi-tech )

And thus started the viewing – let me have my snaps do the talking now …

These snaps are from the herbivorous zone..

and let’s move onto the carnivorous zone…

and still few more… up and close…

and that’s all for now …

Cheers guys
