Barbecued Chicken @ The Riverfront, Singapore !!
“Barbecued Chicken with rice and chips ~~ 15 SGD ”
This is what the menu card read at the Riverfront cafe in Singapore. I could not resist myself from it, and was forced to make this splurge. Well considering the idea of having an evening snack for approximately 500 bucks, this was an luxury indeed !!
The place was very well made up, having a very cosy and romantic atmosphere!! Though not sure how that helps single me … The river-way seemed pretty busy with all the cruise boats speeding for the evening cruises..
Clarke Quay – The place indeed is a pretty happening palace, living up to its popularity and hype …
Then I heard the girl at the delivery counter announcing my order number ! I rushed to the counter to claim my much awaited order. Well !!! This is what is was….
Boiled Rice….. Boiled carrots… Boiled Egg…. Boiled potatoes… Baked Beans… All arranged in a large dish… With a sauce poured all over it… And Barbecued Chicken SKIN covering the whole !!! Note… it was the skin… not the chicken …
And all this for only 500 bucks !!
It took me pretty long time to actually figure out what they had meant by barbecued chicken and even longer time to eat that mess !! Whatever you order, the base was all the same, and only the chicken skin was cooked to your preference !!
It would have been much wiser of me to spend my money at Starbucks… at least could have boasted of having my evening meal at the Starbucks Coffee !!! After all the brand sells …
Nevertheless, some snaps of the place… which, with due ignorance to the food, as really nice in its feel and ambience.
